In November 2024, the Amancio Ortega Foundation established an aid programme for those affected by the DANA, which, during the last week of October, caused severe flooding and significant personal and material losses in Spain. This aid aims to support individuals who have suffered damage to their homes, furniture, belongings, appliances, work-essential vehicles, and the loss of their source of income.
The aid was processed through the affected municipalities that reported personal damages, with the population being the ultimate beneficiaries. The Amancio Ortega Foundation collaborated with the Diputación de Valencia to identify the affected municipalities, resulting in a total of 40 local entities, two of them in Castilla-La Mancha (Letur and Mira) and the remaining 38 municipalities in the Valencian Community: Alaquàs, Albal, Aldaia, Alfafar, Alfarb, Algemesí, Alginet, Benetusser, Beniparrell, Buñol, Carcaixent, Catadau, Catarroja, Chera, Cheste, Chiva, Fuenterrobles, Gestalgar, Godelleta, Guadassuar, L’Alcudia, Llocnou de la Corona, Llombai, Massanassa, Montroi, Montserrat, Paiporta, Pedralba, Picanya, Picassent, Real, Riola, Sedaví, Siete Aguas, Sot de Chera, Torrent, Utiel and Xirivella.
The services of the affected municipalities manage directly the aid, recording the data for the subsequent control of recipients and use of the amounts delivered.
The aid includes the possibility of allocating part of the funds to the hiring of personnel for the management of the process, if necessary.
