In April 2021, and as a result of the agreement signed between the Amancio Ortega Foundation, the Vigo City Council and Amencer-ASPACE, the Vigo Comprehensive Care Centre for People With Cerebral Palsy and Neuromotor Disorders in Bembrive (Vigo) was presented.
The centre was built and equipped by the Amancio Ortega Foundation with an overall investment of than 9 million euros. The Vigo City Council, for its part, ceded the 6,000 m2 plot of public land on which the more than 2,700 m2 built area is located.
The new facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide an holistic approach to all user rehabilitation needs. The building houses:
The Centre 80 professionals (teachers, carers, physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists) specialised in the overall care and attention of these users, whose treatments are supported by state-of-the-art technology. The equipment installed includes IM HIROB —the most advanced robotic EAT device on the market, with up to five therapy modes available— and a multi-sensory pool, as well as other systems such as Spidersuit, Lexo, Tyromotion's Omego Plus and Zebris Rehawalk System, capable of performing treatments, assessing the user, analysing their muscle and movement functions and carrying out digitalised monitoring of their evolution. This state-of-the-art equipment provides a complete solution for rehabilitation treatments, from the earliest to the most advanced stages.
Amencer-ASPACE has been serving its beneficiaries in the province of Pontevedra since 1991 in its centres in Pontevedra, Vilagarcía and, from now on, the Vigo Amencer-ASPACE Comprehensive Care Centre in Bembrive.
